The Patient Transport Service provides ambulances to patients who need support to reach their healthcare appointment, or for their admission to and discharge from hospital, due to their medical/clinical needs.
To make a transport booking, patients, their family members or their carers will need to dial 0191 215 1515, where they will be taken through the national eligibility criteria by an ERS call handler to ensure there is a medical need for transport.
This service will be available for use between the hours of 9.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays).
