District Nurse
The district nursing team provide home treatment for patients who are confined to their home and give advice about care and convalescence after discharge from hospital. They also offer treatment room consultations for suture removal, dressings, etc. The nurses can obtain specialist equipment, including continence products.

Health Visitors
The health visitors offer support, advice and information to people of all ages, both in the home and in the surgery. They have particular responsibility for families with young children and are situated in the Shiremoor Children’s Centre, Bridge Terrace, Shiremoor .

The midwife holds surgeries for pregnant women at Shiremoor Health Resource Centre and looks after new mothers and babies at home.
